Calvary Presbyterian Church to offer a free Mother?s Day concert

  • Selected movements from Anton?n Dvo??k?s Opus 90 (?Dumky?) piano trio
  • Maurice Ravel?s ?Tzigane? for violin and piano
  • The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires by ?stor Piazzolla
  • Jascha Heifetz? arrangement for violin and piano of the three preludes George Gershwin composed for solo piano
  • The final ?Hoe-Down? scene from Aaron Copland?s score for the ballet ?Rodeo?

Performers will be Ian Scarfe, pianist and Director of the Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival, along with violinists Petr Masek, James Keene, and Anna Corcoran and cellist Erin Wang.

This concert will take place in the Sanctuary of Calvary Presbyterian Church at 2515 Fillmore Street, at the northwest corner of Jackson Street. The performance will begin at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 12 (Mother?s Day). Admission will be free, but donations will be gladly accepted at the door. Proceeds will be shared between the Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival and Eldergivers.
